Obscure Book of the Day: The Queen Magazine, Coronation Number, 1953

The Queen Magazine, a long-running publication specifically for ladies, was known for its fashion spreads and colorful advertisements.  I recently acquired this coronation number from 1953.  Like current magazines, it is filled with ads and only a few feature articles.  This edition was produced for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and is a time capsule of wonderful 1953 fashions and trends.  If I could have reproduced the whole thing for you, I would have.  It’s really quite interesting.  However, since space is limited, I’ve pulled a few notable pages for you.  Let’s take a look inside.

It's rather difficult to believe that this year marks sixty years that Her Majesty has been Queen.  As the world celebrates the Diamond Jubilee, show your pride in Elizabeth II with one of our exclusive Jubilee designs
